It just seemed like time to remind everyone about this.
It was the last few minutes of the last period of the middle school day. My seventh and eighth grade orchestra students were putting their instruments away. One student, Aundrea, was still seated and putting her violin in the case while most of the rest were putting their instruments in storage or lining up to take them home. Aundrea was a delight to have in class. She worked hard on her music and had exceptional manners. It was obvious that there were high expectations in her family. On the other hand, she also had a purple streak in her hair, which was a little wild in a way that seemed to work for her, and a pierced eyebrow.
